Need help launching a great beef idea?

The Virginia Beef Industry Council (VBIC) funds outside grants each year to further the efforts of the Beef Checkoff. VBIC is currently accepting proposals for fiscal year October 1, 2017 through September 30, 2018. The VBIC is a consumer-driven, producer-directed and funded organization representing all segments of the beef industry.

The Virginia Beef Industry Council's mission is to enhance consumer preference for beef and to sustain Virginia families. Moreover, our aim is to utilize the specific priorities, described in the video below, to achieve our mission. Funds are derived from a $1-per-head checkoff collected on each beef and dairy animal sold. Review Beef Checkoff information. These funds are used in programs for promotion, consumer education, producer communications, and research to promote the benefits of beef and increase the demand for beef in our state.

If you have interest in applying to be considered for a checkoff-funded project, please download the forms and submit to Jason Carter (instructions within) by August 21, 2017.
