- 30 minutes
- 4 Servings
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef (93% lean or leaner)
- 1/2 Cup cider
- 2 Tbsp brown sugar
- 2 Tbsp ketchup
- 1 Tbsp minced chipotle peppers in adobo sauce
- 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 4 slices of frozen Texas Toast
- 2 spears of pickled okra, sliced
Instructions
- 1. To prepare barbecue sauce, combine cider, brown sugar, ketchup, chipotle peppers and Worcestershire sauce in saucepan; bring to a boil. Simmer 8-10 minutes until sauce is thickened, set aside.
- 2. Lightly shape ground beef into four 1/2-inch-thick patties. Place patties on grill over medium, ash-covered coals. Grill, covered, for 8-10 minutes (or on 7-9 minutes on pre-heated medium heat gas grill) until instant-read thermometer inserted horizontally into center of patty registers 160*F, flipping only once.
- 3. Meanwhile, prepare Texas Toast according to package directions. Cut each piece of toast in half. For each sandwich, spread 1 Tbsp. barbecue sauce over one toast half. Top with burger, another Tbsp of sauce, and okra slices. Close sandwich and enjoy with a Bold Rock Virginia Apple Cider!
